Your store

Your words, in every template. Pick one to hold it.

Three things worth saying

All three are running below — the timer is counting and the meter is filling.

Say it once, on every page
A shipping threshold, a discount code, a delay you'd rather explain than apologize for. Add a link, or make the whole bar clickable.

You're $18.00 away from free shipping

Show how close they are to free shipping
The bar follows their real cart and updates as they shop, so nobody has to remember what the threshold was. Set an amount per currency.

Give a deadline everyone shares
One end time, the same moment for every shopper in every timezone. Choose which units show — and what the bar says once it's over.

Live in about a minute

Three steps, and the third one is your storefront.

01
Pick a template
Twenty designs across five moods. No color, size or position is locked to a plan — every one of them is yours on the free one.
02
Update the text
Type your message and watch the preview change. It’s drawn with the same stylesheet your storefront loads, so what you approve is what ships.
03
Publish
One switch in your theme, once. After that, publishing is a single click and the bar is live.

This is the whole app

Your bar across the top, exactly as a shopper will see it, staying put while you work. The settings underneath, one card each, so you open only what you came to change — and under the bar, whether it is showing and why. There is no second screen to learn.

The Barlio editor: across the top, a live preview of a teal “Summer sale: 20% off everything with code SUMMER20” bar with a Shop the sale button; beneath it the Draft, Live and Paused status options with Live chosen, and the start of a “Will this show?” panel.

A real screenshot of the editor, not a drawing of it — captured from the app itself at 1200×675.

Twenty templates, none of them locked to a look

A starting point, never a mode. No dated gradients and no decorative type, because the bar should look like your store — not like an app bolted onto it.

Seasonal

Every color pair here meets WCAG AA contrast, including the button pill and the worst case behind a seasonal pattern. That’s checked by a test, not by eye.

It won’t slow your store down

Your bar’s settings travel inside the page Shopify already sent. Nothing we serve decides what your bar says, so no server of ours stands between a shopper and your shop while the page loads.

8 KB
gzipped, all in — 6.5 KB of script, 1.8 KB of CSS
0
requests before your bar appears
0
web fonts downloaded
0
lines of your theme changed
No framework
Hand-written CSS and JavaScript with no dependencies. The build refuses to ship at all if the bundle outgrows its budget.
In the flow, not on top
The bar takes its own strip at the top of the page instead of floating over it. If your theme pins its header too, the editor tells you they will collide before a shopper does.
Nothing to go down
If Barlio were offline entirely, your published bar would keep showing. It doesn’t need us to be up.

Everything you can change

Every color, type and layout control is on the free plan. A blue rectangle costs no more to build than a purple one, so we don’t charge for one.

The parts you only notice when an app gets them wrong

Your storefront is not ours to break. Where something was ambiguous, we picked whichever option couldn’t damage a live store.

Your theme is never edited
Barlio installs as an app embed. Turn it off and your theme is exactly as it was — no leftover snippets to find months later.
A bad publish can’t break your store
If anything fails on the way out, the bar already running keeps running and your edits stay saved. That’s why saved and published are two different words here.
It tells you why
When a bar isn’t showing, Barlio names the reason — paused, scheduled for later, another bar has the slot, the wrong currency — instead of leaving you guessing.

What Barlio doesn’t do

One thing, done properly. If you need any of these, another app will serve you better — and it is cheaper to know that now than after you install.

  • Pop-ups, email capture and spin-to-win
  • Cart drawers, upsells and product recommendations
  • A/B testing one bar against another

Questions people actually ask

My bar isn’t showing. Why?
Open Barlio and read “Will this show?” — it names the exact reason. Nine times in ten it is that Barlio hasn’t been switched on in your theme yet.
Do I need a developer?
No. Barlio never edits theme files, and switching it on is one toggle in the theme editor.
What happens if I uninstall?
The bar stops and nothing is left behind in your theme. Your announcements are kept for about two days, so coming back soon picks up where you left off — after that Shopify asks us to erase the store’s data, and we do.
Will it slow my store down?
About 8 KB gzipped, no web fonts, and no request to us before your bar appears — your settings travel inside the page Shopify already sent.
Can I run more than one bar?
Yes, on a paid plan. They take turns, and you choose how they change over and how long each one stays up.
Can I try the paid features first?
Both paid plans start with a 7-day trial and you get the whole plan from day one. Cancel inside the week and you are not charged.
